
IPFCOM’s Executive Director made a presentation in the World Customs Organization (WCO) Authorized Economic Operator Conference about the developments of AEO programs in Latin America.
From 11 to 13 May, 2016 the annual WCO Global AEO Conference was held in Cancun, México. This conference is one of the main events in customs and trade facilitation as it addresses substantial supply chain logistics’ security issues attracting the major customs authorities in the world as well as companies, logistic operators and cargo safety and traceability solutions suppliers.
Across the three days, government representatives and private companies extensively discussed the progresses attained on their respective AEO’ models and the ongoing customs cooperation initiatives. It is noteworthy that country members of the Pacific Alliance signed up an Action Plan for the mutual recognition of their qualified AEO companies which constitutes a milestone in the evolution of this model and its real effectiveness. IPFCOM’s Executive Director as associate of the Trusted Trade Alliance (www.trusted-trade.org) network discussed the status and challenges of the OAS model in Peru, Mexico y Brasil.
TTA’s team consisted of Mr. Bryce Blegen CEO of TTA, Mr. Rogelio Cruz from Mexico’s offices, Mr. Omar Rachid from TTA Sao Paulo, and Mr. Jimmy Pang, Vice President of the Supply Chain Security Association (SCSA) of Hong Kong.
