
From 1 to 3 June, 2016 the annual WCO IT Conference & Exhibition took place in Dakar, Senegal. This event has become the major global forum of dialogue and exhibition of new technologies and trends in trade facilitation. It brings together consultants and providers of technologic solutions and related products to facilitate the data exchange across the international logistics supply chain.
The theme of this year´s conference was Digital Customs and as part of the event a discussion group about the development of trade information exchange worldwide was organized. IPFCOM was invited to address a presentation on the trade facilitation provisions in the Pacific Alliance agreement and the latest developments on Single Window interoperability among country members of such regional agreement. The presentation is based on a research paper elaborated by IPFCOM that will be shortly published.
Also as part of the round-table members were Professor Yua-hua Tanu from the University of Technology of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Miss Lourita Green from the US Home Security Office, Mr. Alioune Dione from the Senegal Customs Administration and Mr. Andres Sceia from the United Nations for Europe - UNECE and acting as moderator Miss Milena Budimirovic from the WCO.
